PRIVACY POLICY

We collect as little as possible: what is needed to sell you a licence, send it to you and check it. No advertising, no tracking cookies, no analytics.

Last updated: November 2026. Draft to be reviewed before launch.

WHO IS RESPONSIBLE

David Espinasse (Weird Software Company), 82 rue Millière, 33000 Bordeaux, France. Contact: support@weirdsoftware.co.

WHAT WE COLLECT AND WHY

When you buy

Paddle, our reseller and Merchant of Record, collects your payment details, billing country and e-mail address. We never see your card. Paddle sends us your e-mail address and the order contents so we can create your licence key. Paddle's privacy policy: paddle.com/legal/privacy.

Your licence

Our licence server stores your e-mail address, your licence keys, the order number and their status. Legal basis: performing the contract.

When you activate a plugin

The plugin sends your key, an anonymous machine ID (a one-way hash computed on your computer, never the raw hardware ID), the computer name, the operating system and the plugin version. We keep them to enforce the 3-computer limit and to let you free a computer. About once a week the plugin checks that the key is still valid. Legal basis: performing the contract.

E-mails

We only send transactional e-mails: your licence keys and the account sign-in links you ask for. No newsletter unless you sign up for one.

The website

No cookies, no analytics, no advertising. Fonts are served from our own domain. The account page keeps your sign-in link in the browser tab's session storage until you close the tab. The checkout loads Paddle's script only when Paddle is used.

WHO PROCESSES DATA FOR US

  • Paddle (UK): payment, invoicing, taxes.
  • Cloudflare (USA): website hosting and licence server.
  • Resend (USA): sending the e-mails.

Transfers outside the EU rely on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses and the EU-US Data Privacy Framework where applicable.

HOW LONG

Licence and activation data are kept as long as the licence exists, so you can reactivate years later. Order records are kept for the period required by accounting law (10 years in France). You can ask us to delete your data at any time; this cancels your licences.

YOUR RIGHTS

You can access, correct, delete or export your data, and object to its use, by writing to support@weirdsoftware.co. You can also complain to the CNIL (cnil.fr) or to the data protection authority of your country.

MISSION CONTROL ON DISCORD

Betas, presets, bug reports, and the next machines before launch.
